This lounge project was one of the more challenging projects to date.

The homeowners hadn’t updated their lounge space for over 25 years so there were quite a few things that needed to change throughout.

The existing green leather sofas and armchair were to remain as they had been  recently purchased.  Because the green heavy leather finish was going to feel dominant in the space thought was needed on how the room could appear much softer.

This was how the room started out….

Here is the Moodboard that was created…

It was then time to start the renovation work. The old fireplace, surround and built in bookcase were stripped out.

The ceiling was re-boarded and then the whole room was plastered throughout.

The layout was rethought as there was too much furniture in the space.  One of the sofa’s went to another room which then gave scope to introduce a bespoke armchair.

The homeowners didn’t want a fireplace or a log burner so we kept it very simple by building bespoke alcove units either side of the old fireplace to help maximise storage and streamline the space.

The room was then redecorated with pale neutral tones and Amtico flooring was then laid.

The use of pale natural woods in the flooring choice and the new furniture pieces such as the oversized ottoman and side table really helped soften the look.

This was the armchair that was made and covered in a beautiful velvet print.

By adding in some soft pastel coral and pink tones and a subtle botanical theme throughout the room was elevated.

The leather armchair and footstool have now become the star of the show in this cosy corner which still has classic appeal but looks fresh and bright with the artwork above.
